Halloween 2010

I have decided that I am going to be Leonore for Halloween. Yes that is true, I will ride in style as the woman who raised my father.

An example of the way I may or may not be dressing:


Tomorrow, we (myself [22], Ayda [4], and Kinley [1.5]) are going trick or treating at her Assisted Living abode. Apparently there is going to be a magician from 2:00 - 3:00 , cookie decorating from 3:00-3:15, and then trick or treating at 3:30. I don't care about all those other activities, I just wanna startle all the elderly with my adorable grandma costume.

Grandma Nora

Grandma Nora is great. I love her. She says the craziest things of them all. Don't be startled or alarmed - this is a forewarning of the things to come. She just had her 84th birthday... or was it 82? I'll have to check her calender.




Ahh, It was 82 wasn't it. Well if you meet my grandma, don't be alarmed if you hear something about her Depends, or a PTA bath.

Ayda 4 year old

Ayda says, "Hey grandma, you have the same marker that we have at school!"

Grandma (my mom) says, Oh yes Ayda I snuck into your school and took the marker late at night!

A week later, Ayda and I were coloring and she stops and says "I said to my teacher that grandma tip toed into school late at nigth when everyone was sleeping and took the marker, haha, and my teacher said Ohhh that's nice that's so funny."

I told my sister what her daughter said, and she laughed, and Ayda unsurely said "Uh, hehe, I think Grandma wasn't really for real when she said that."

Dancing with the Stars

Alright, so Grandma Nora was furious with the fact that Monday Night Football was way more important than Dancing with the Stars. I mean furious, she was going to call ABC! Seriously, and she wasn't going to be nice about the situation (I didn't even mean to do that, is that a pun?). She says "I had to call Gloria (who lives 8 hours north of us) for the results, so I could watch elimination tonight." So yes, she pretty much heard the show through Gloria's reciever. The most adorable part about it was... yes look to the left, she records EVERY episode in her notebook. I was like what the heck is that?

"Oh of course I keep this written down."

Notice, the judges are on the top of the page - probably so she can judge them... and she even crosses out the losers. Muahaha!

St. Patricks Day 2010

Hannah and I were hanging out on the porch at 371 Grand day drinking (obviously), when it crossed our minds to give Nora a jingle. Hannah never got a chance to meet her at that time, but she always wanted to after hearing the outstanding stories about her. Leonora is a LEGEND.


Pre-phone call I warned Hannah that it's possible my pervy grandmother may not say something pervy at all this time.

Phone Call:

Nora: Hello?
Me: Hey grandma!
Nora: Hi Steph
Me: Just callin to see what you're up to on this wonderful St. Patricks Day..
Nora: Ahh, probably just gonna play with myself and then maybe catch Deal or No Deal
Me: HAHAHHAHAA!
Nora: Hehe, no I'm just kidding you.
